A refined vintage Japanese tie tack by ARITA, featuring a square mixed-metal panel decorated with a stylised landscape scene. The composition—mountain form, water, trees, and birds in flight—is rendered in subtle gold-tone inlay against a dark patinated ground, reflecting Japanese decorative metalwork traditions adapted for Western men’s dress accessories. The reverse is clearly stamped “ARITA” beneath a crown mark, identifying the piece as Japanese export jewellery of the mid-20th century. The tie tack is fitted with a screw-post fastening and retains its original safety chain and button clasp, indicating quality jeweller-made construction rather than costume manufacture.
