Vintage Twin Waffle-Weave Blanket with Satin/Nylon Trim This is a vintage thermal waffle-weave blanket featuring a smooth satin/nylon binding trim. While the exact manufacturing date of this blanket is unknown, these blankets were highly popular mid-century household staples from the 1960s through the 1980s. There is no tag on this blanket so the brand is unknown, but they were commonly manufactured by iconic heritage bedding brands like Sears, Chatham, Esmond, and Fieldcrest. Material: There is no materials tag but I’m guessing (base on look and feel) that this blanket is made of a wool blend (I could be wrong!). Weave: The distinct textured square design is a waffle or cellular weave designed to trap body heat while maintaining air circulation. Border: Edged with a classic wide, glossy satin-style nylon binding ribbon stitched onto the top and bottom borders. Color: This is a “soft” mustard yellow interwoven with white/off-white. Approximate size: 87 inches by 72 inches, which would fit twin-size bed. Condition Notes: This blanket is in very good preowned vintage condition. No holes, stains or tears and virtually no pilling. It has minor variations in the size/openness of the waffle weave, as is typical for textiles of this era. There is also light, beautiful vintage color variation toward the outer margins. I found one minor pull, as pictured.
