This red leather kiss-lock purse is a vintage item from Simpson's Luggage and Furs, a historic luxury retailer that was a staple of the Church Street shopping district in Burlington, Vermont. It has an attached coin purse. Simpson's was well-known in northern Vermont for its high-end fur department and luxury travel goods. The store was famous for its in-house furriers who custom-made fur coats and accessories. Having a garment or accessory with the Simpson's label was considered a local status symbol. The store operated through the mid-20th century, serving as a primary destination for formal and luxury wear until the retail landscape began to shift toward more casual styles in the 1970s. Kiss-Lock Clasp: A hallmark of vintage evening bags and carriage-trade accessories. Also, a round gold colored ball adorns the front. Metal Chain Strap: The antiqued brass-tone chain suggests it was intended for both hand-carry and shoulder use. Matching Coin Purse: These sets were often sold together; the small tan pouch is a typical companion piece for organized storage within the larger bag. Full Handle drop 13 1/2” When chain is doubled 7 1/2” 7” x 6 1/4” **Please see photos that show some small black dots/markings scattered on outside leather No corner scuffing at all
