■ Product Overview - Product Name: Old Violin Bow (Open Frog Style) - Size: 4/4 Size - Material: Unknown - Inscription near the slide: XV//// (Possibly indicating a 19 grade? May be from a mass-production workshop) - Features/Atmosphere: A rare silhouette that feels like a transitional design, somewhere between a Baroque and a modern bow. ■ Inscription/Origin - Inscription/Label: No maker's mark - Remarks: Detailed workshop/maker unknown as it is unauthenticated. ■ Specifications/Condition - Frog: Repair history of chipping (no impact on playing performance) - Wrapping: None, as per old style - Structural Feature: Unusual specification with the slide metal placed on the stick side, not the frog side. - Adjustments/Repairs: Rehaired (brown horsehair) and ebony tip replaced at the end of 2025. - Usage: Applied with Bespoke Concerto rosin, tested only. - Weight: 56.2g - Warp/Bend: No issues - Playing Characteristics: The balance point is closer to the hand, and despite its light body, it grips the strings well, producing clear articulation. - Playing Style Compatibility: Usable for both modern and Baroque playing styles. Remarks: A bow with a very similar structure was featured in a French instrument catalog approximately 100 years ago (see 20th photo). ■ Notes - This is an old/used item. - Recommended for those who understand old bows, including their repair history and minor scratches. - Please check the condition carefully in the photos. - Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive or seeking perfection.
